Books for First Graders About Racism & Activism

The books below were compiled and curated by Literacy Trust program managers for our community. They are all about anti-Black racism and/or activism related to racial equity, and are appropriate for first graders. We hope these can provide context for what's happening in their world and be the starting point for meaningful conversations.

Epic has also created a free, digital book collection for young children entitled Start a Conversation About Race.”
