As a Program Manager at Literacy Trust, Tyler works directly with DOE schools to facilitate professional development and train staff in delivering effective one-on-one instruction in Reading Rescue. As a former teacher, Tyler deeply believes in the potential of all students and educators. He views equity in education as a civil rights issue and is committed toward improving early literacy outcomes.
Tyler has previous experience as a 2nd grade teacher in Brooklyn, where he also served as an academic coach, curriculum fellow, and grade level leader. He also teaches graduate-level special education and certification courses at Relay Graduate School of Education. Tyler received his BA in Economics from Macalester College and his MAT from Relay Graduate School of Education.
When not at Literacy Trust, Tyler enjoys discovering new music, hiking, and visiting NYC parks.
