Manager of Professional Learning
Ryan Novack is a Manager of Professional Learning at Literacy Trust. In this role, Ryan works with his team on delivering, creating, and revising the professional development opportunities and trainings that we deliver. Ryan comes to Literacy Trust with experience in - and a passion for - curriculum and instruction, and he is happy to be working with the incredible people and the rich and meaningful material at Literacy Trust.
Prior to working at Literacy Trust, Ryan worked as the Manager of Curriculum Design at BUILD, an entrepreneurship program that teaches high school students how to open and operate their own small businesses. Before that, Ryan was a high school English teacher in the San Francisco Unified School District where he taught all grades, but focused largely on teaching expository reading and writing and literature to seniors. He attended San Francisco State University and received his BA in Creative Writing with a focus on English Literature, and he received his Masters in Education in the Curriculum and Teaching department at Teachers College at Columbia.
Other than working at Literacy Trust, Ryan is a father to his wonderful baby daughter, and a husband to his amazing wife. He is also an endurance runner, an amateur chef (emphasis on the word "amateur") and an avid reader and binge-watcher of good television.
