Who inspired your love of literacy and why? I found literacy as a way to experience the diversity and richness of experience in the world through my best friend as a child.

What was your favorite childhood book? As a young child: The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. As an older child: Laurence Yep. As a high school student: Howard Zinn.

What is your favorite literary hobby? Staying way too long at the library leafing through the 8 books I want to check out, frequently until it's closing and they have to kick me out. Also, there's little more charming than a warm drink and a newspaper in the morning.

What makes Literacy Trust special to you? Literacy Trust is special to me because we are a family, each individuals with our own ideas, backgrounds, and futures, united in our vision of equity in literacy education.
