Monica Cradle joins the Literacy Trust team as a seasoned Speech-Language Pathologist that believes all children have the right to read. Her motto: “We must strive to give the best to the ones who need the most”. Monica serves as a Program Manager at Literacy Trust and is primarily responsible for coaching and collaborating with schools in Brooklyn to inspire, instruct, and move students to grade level reading.
Monica has worked in a variety of educational settings as a Special Educator, Speech-Language Pathologist and instructional coach within the public, parochial, and charter school systems of NYC and Washington, DC. Monica received her Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of the District of Columbia. As an SLP, she was an Adjunct Professor at Adelphi University and served as a guest lecturer within the Department of Communication and Education at Brooklyn College and Medgar Evers College. More recently she turned her professional interests to literacy and has been trained in the Wilson reading program, Haggerty Phonemic Awareness and Sounds in Motion Early literacy programs.
Personally, Monica is a proud soccer mom and enjoys the bike lanes of Brooklyn and NYC with her husband and two inspiring daughters.
