As Program Manager at Literacy Trust, Millie is responsible for a cohort of Reading Rescue partnerships on Staten Island. She believes that equity and access through the coaching model is critical in empowering learners to become lifelong readers.
Millie has worked with administrators, instructors and parents during her tenure at the New York City Department of Education. Before retiring she served as a classroom teacher, literacy coach, and more recently English Language Learners Administrator. She received her Masters from Kean University in Multi Cultural Education/Curriculum and Instruction, and her School District Leadership Certificate from Brooklyn College. Her talents have not gone unrecognized as in May 2017, she received the Distinguished Administrator award from the Latino Caucus of the Council of School Supervisors and Administrators.
When she is not at Literacy Trust, she is being chased by her two small grandsons with nerf guns.
