You’re never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book and read to a child.

Who inspired your love of literacy and why? My third grade teacher, Mrs. Andreski, definitely inspired my love for reading.  This was the first time I remember having a DEAR time in the classroom, and she let us choose any books we wanted.  I fell in love with Roald Dahl books!

What was your favorite childhood book? The Giving Tree - Shel Silverstein

What inspires you to support literacy? I support literacy because I truly believe that all children, no matter what their background is, deserve a chance to receive high quality education. Literacy is the foundation of everything in this world, and without it, the future of today's children will be greatly impacted.

What is your favorite literary hobby? I love to read suspense novels (Girl on the Train, The Woman in Cabin 10, etc.).  They are quick reads and they keep me engaged!

What makes Literacy Trust special to you? Literacy Trust is special to me because I have been a part of the organization's growth over the last two years.  I've seen how our professional development impacts the lives of so many adults, which in turn impacts the lives of so many children.
