As a Program Manager at Literacy Trust, Claire facilitates professional development and supports instructors all over New York City to implement the Reading Rescue program. She is a firm believer in the fundamental relationship between literacy and social justice.
Claire’s journey into literacy education began when she was working in international educational development, where she supported numerous educational programs focused on literacy around the world. Her previous work focused mainly on reading assessments, but she was also part of a team that developed a national reading program for second graders in Niger. Claire recently completed a dual MS Ed in International Educational Development and Reading/Writing/Literacy at the University of Pennsylvania, which makes her a certified literacy nerd. After years of international work, Claire is thrilled to be able to invest her enthusiasm and experience in her own community of New York City.
When not working, Claire can usually be found reading, playing with her dog, or digging in her vegetable garden.
